Silveria Fund Raiser Announced

To some, the name Brenda Silveria may be a name that “rings a bell”. As a worker at the Valley Village post office for fifteen years, she fought to keep the post office in Valley Village from closing this past year. Her fighting escalated to a great debate between two council members in the Southwest Jefferson County area that  wound up on television. Credited for being the real source for keeping the Valley Village post office from closing down, Ms. Silveria is now keeping her medical treatments from ending as she fights a deadly disease.

Ms. Silveria has been battling pancreatic cancer, and has announced that she has one more round of radiation; one that will end prematurely if she does not raise enough money to continue the treatment as her insurance will not pay for the entire round. Members of the district that she resides in have announced that there will be a fundraiser to assist in keeping her medical treatments going.

The fundraiser in Brenda Silveria’s honor is to be held on November 21, 2009 from 3 p.m. to midnight at VFW Post #1181 located at 6518 Blevins Gap in Louisville KY 40272. The sponsors of this event is the VFW Post #1181 and the Ladies Auxillary.
