Back to Work- The Council Returns

In what has been an epic movie-like year, the Louisville Metro Council has returned to Chambers to discuss and direct the two caucus’ on the agenda for the remainder of the year. With the budget now behind them, various ordinance issues are now going to be looked at and discussed with great scrutiny, financially as well as philosophically.
Though many important ordinances have been passed the first half of the year, one can expect the latter part of the year to slow down, and ordinances important to the community to be stifled, or weaken the freedom of the citizens within the community. For example, the Ethics Ordinance is STILL in Ad-hoc Committee. The view on both sides of the aisle differs on the ordinance. Individuals close to the Council has informed us that the Ethics Ordinance could be expected to die, or lean to the proposal most favored by the Democrats, and received with warm reception by one Republican, Jon Ackerson.
Though the Ethics Ordinance is currently tied up in the committee, there are other ordinances that will be addressed- and with excitement- as the Council Returns (que music).
